Acoustic visors are non-opening windows that are designed to offer a high level of soundproofing. They are used in recording studios, dubbing rooms, audiometric booths, industrial control rooms and, generally, in all those places where it is necessary to have a good soundproofing while being able to have an outward view.
SINTEC manufactures two visor models: the VS simple visors and the VD double visors, both being appropriate for installation with partitioned walls used in general building as well as dry partition walls and plasterboard. Manufactured via steel frameworks, with a sturdy interior due to the use of high-density materials. These structures support a polished screen via high-density neoprene seals and aluminium profiles in order to achieve a hermetically sealed unit. The glass thickness can vary in function of the attenuation requirements, with the standard format being monolithic 10mm thick glass in the case of a single visor and 10mm and 8mm glass for the double visors. Should the project requirements demand, it is possible to install other thicknesses, which differ from standard ones.
In the event of a double visor, it would be made from two independent structures that are installed on different facings and are physically insulated together in order to avoid solid transmissions. The distance between glasses can vary and depends on the distance between the aforementioned partition walls. Distances in excess of 100mm are recommended to achieve correct behaviour at low frequencies.
An angular profile is used throughout the perimeter, which allows a watertight closure against the facing as well as providing inclination for one of the layers of glass in the case of double visors, which prevents unwanted reflections.
Throughout the perimeter, between frames, a tray of absorbent materials helps to eliminate internal cavity resonance
